With an obsession for detail and high-quality materials, Erik Trexel started Level Plane Tile & Stone as a one-person operation in 2009, and the business has grown into Portland’s premiere tile installation company with highly-skilled crew of master craftspeople.

Design Studio
We are happy to do all sizes and types of jobs – from small home projects to high-end residential, commercial and specialty projects. We work with all tile and stone products, decorative profiles and finishes, and on all surfaces, both interior and exterior. We also do custom work, design, and mosaics.
Tile and natural stone have a unique ability to ground a space through texture, proportion, and a sense of permanence. We approach interior renovation with the belief that these materials are meant to be experienced, not simply applied. Every project begins with understanding how a space is meant to be lived in, thoughtfully marrying our clients’ vision with the character of the space to form a complete and cohesive design story.
